Deepest Blue

like a february evening
you wore the deepest blue
not much to believe in
you wore a smile like the lonely do
the summer smiles
your rained on skin
your suburban drawl
was the last thing I recall
and I believe
the deepest blue
washed right over
the shine in you
the big city
scared the child in you at first
we couldn't bear
to see the bubbles being burst
the truck you drove
the stereo
you never knew
that your friends would see you through
and I believe...
and I know you thought of me
as something cool to be
but you never really knew
the special one
was you
